JOWAI, Dec 3: West Jaintia Hills Police on Tuesday conducted a successful operation, targeting a network of criminals involved in bike theft and the smuggling of stolen motorcycles to Bangladesh and other regions.
The operation, which commenced at around 4:30 AM, involved a high-speed chase that culminated in the suspects abandoning three stolen bikes in Mihmyntdu village. This latest recovery is part of a series of operations over the past week, during which the police seized a total of seven stolen bikes within the district.
In light of these incidents, authorities have issued a public advisory urging vehicle owners to park their bikes and vehicles in secure locations to prevent further thefts.
