Shillong, Dec 6: The Meghalaya Arm Wrestling Association (MAWA) will host the State Arm Wrestling Championship 2024 from December 12 to 14 at Malki Football Ground, Shillong.
The event will feature competitions across various weight categories for Youth (21 years), Senior, Master (40 years), and Para Athletes, including those with physical, visual, and hearing impairments.
The weigh-in is scheduled for December 12 from 10 AM to 1 PM, while the championship matches will take place on December 13 and 14. Winners will earn the opportunity to represent Meghalaya at the National Arm Wrestling Championship in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Registration requires two passport-sized photographs, a Xerox copy of Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, or Birth Certificate, and a fee of ₹400 for Seniors and Masters or ₹300 for Youth and Para Athletes, with forms available at the weigh-in venue.
This championship aims to promote arm wrestling in Meghalaya and provide a platform for athletes to excel at the national level.
