Study coach claims IPS trainee broke glass on his head at wedding
NEW DELHI, Dec 8: A fight broke out between a 2023-batch trainee IPS officer and a UPSC coach at a wedding in southwest Delhi’s Kapashera area.The incident took place on December 6 and resulted in both sides filing complaints at the local police station.Vikas Dhayal a civil services coach, told PTI the trainee officer struck him on his head with a glass.No immediate reaction was available from the officer.“We are checking the CCTV footage of the entire incident. Initially, we got to know that there was some issue between two people and one of them hit another with a glass. We have received two different complaints.Both complaints are under investigation,” police said.Dhayal shared a video on X, purportedly showing the assault, including images of his blood-smeared face and clothes.He alleged that police refused to file an FIR first, and only relented when his post went viral. 4 of family die of suspected food poisoning
JAMMU, Dec 8: A 40-year-old man and his three children died, while his wife and another daughter fell sick, due to suspected food poisoning in a remote village in Rajouri district here on Sunday, officials said. Fazal Hussain, his wife Shamim Akhter, 38, and the couple’s four children, hailing from Badhal Gorla village, were admitted to Rajouri Government Medical College hospital with severe dyspepsia late Saturday, they said.Hussain died during treatment in the wee hours of Sunday, while his wife and the children were referred to Jammu for specialised treatment.Three of the children died at Jammu hospital. Akhter and her other daughter Ruksar, 12, are still under treatment. (PTI)
Man loses Rs 21.9 lakh in Bitcoin fraud
MUMBAI, Dec 8: A 33-year-old man from Maharashtra’s Thane district was allegedly cheated of Rs 21.9 lakh by cyber fraudsters who lured him to trade in Bitcoin, police said on Sunday.The complainant received a call from an overseas phone number, and the caller lured him to trade in Bitcoin, assuring him of lucrative returns, an official said.He said the man transferred Rs 21.9 lakh from November 8 to December 3. However, when he sought returns on his investment, the fraudsters did not respond to his calls or messages.The police have registered a case under the Information Technology Act, and a probe is underway, the official said.
