JOWAI, Dec 10: The 13th edition of the Tiger Five Football Tournament 2024 concluded in spectacular fashion on Saturday, as the Chilliangraij Sports & Games Committee celebrated its success with a grand closing ceremony.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including EMH Passah, the Working President of WJDSA, Chilliangraij Headman DH Pde, Mayalang Lanong, Secretary of Sports & Games of Chilliangraij Dorbar Chnong, and other notable guests.
The tournament, which kicked off on November 17, saw participation from 29 teams competing for the coveted title. In the much-anticipated final, Carpedium FC faced Tur Chaphrang FC in a gripping contest that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. Both teams showcased exceptional skill and tactical prowess in a match that was expertly officiated by National Referee Romanium Syngkon.
The tightly contested game ended with Tur Chaphrang FC clinching a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Carpedium FC, earning them the championship title.
The closing ceremony was marked by the presentation of trophies and cash prizes to the winners and outstanding players. Chief Guest EMH Passah handed out the awards, commending all teams for their sportsmanship and dedication. Special accolades were given to the tournament’s Top Scorer and Best Goalkeeper, presented by Cheini Niangti, further recognizing the individual brilliance displayed throughout the competition.
The Tiger Five Football Tournament 2024 proved to be another resounding success, celebrating community spirit and the love for football in the region.
