Pariksha Pe Charcha
Meghalaya will participate in the 8th Edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC) 2025, a unique initiative where students, parents, and teachers get the opportunity to interact with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event will be held in a town-hall format at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, in January next year. It may be mentioned that in January of 2023, Langsongding Khuptong, a Class XII student of St. Edmund’s School, Shillong, and Owen Kharsawain, a Class X student of Shullai Progressive School, Mawroh, Shillong, represented the state. In the upcoming edition, an online participation competition is open to students, parents, and teachers. Participants must answer multiple choice questions (MCQs) and frame questions to be addressed to the Prime Minister. The competition, conducted by NCERT, will take place from December 14 to January 14 on the official portal (https://innovateindia1.mygov.in).

Condolence
Members of Geetali—A Socio Cultural Organisation, Laban, on Thursday organised a meeting to condole the demise of its member Akash Dhar, who passed away on December 10, and eminent scientist Prof. Mihir Kanti Chaudhury, who passed away on December 13. On the occasion the members observed a two-minute silence, paid floral tribute and held prayer for the departed. “It is indeed a difficult time for the whole family. At this moment of grief, may God shower enough courage to withstand this loss,” the organisation said.
