Shillong, Jan 6: The members of the NEHUSU and KSU NEHU unit on Monday chased out the Registrar, Colonel (retd) Omkar Singh from the university campus and locked the entrance door of the administrative block of the university.

The student’s bodies were angry after learning that the Registrar had secretly entered the university campus and attended his office without informing anyone.

NEHUSU president, Sandy Sohtun informed that they had rushed to the university in the morning after they were informed that the Registrar was inside the campus.

Sohtun said that they had inquired from the VC in-charge, Prof N Saha who informed them that they have no information that he (Singh) is joining his duties.

According to him, they had even gone to visit the quarter of the Registrar and they saw he was arranging his files and documents.

“We told the Registrar that he should have sent someone to collect his files and documents since we do not want him to enter the university,” the NEHUSU president said.

He also informed that they had  chased him out of the university and locked down the entry door of the administrative block.

Sohtun also informed that this is not the first time that Registrar had visited the university without informing anyone since he knows that no one would be there since the winter vacation of the university was still on.
