Assam’s Uma Chetry named in India team for Ireland series

Guwahati, Jan 6: Assam’s wicketkeeper-batter Uma Chetry has been named in the India senior women’s squad for upcoming the IDFC First Bank ODI series against Ireland.

The women’s selection committee announced the Indian squad on Monday.

The three-match series will be played on January 10, 12 and 15 at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot, Gujarat.

In a congratulatory message, Assam Cricket Association (ACA) president Taranga Gogoi remarked, “Uma’s selection is a proud moment for Assam cricket. We wish her all the best as she represents India.”

ACA Secretary Tridib Konwar said the association was immensely proud of Uma’s achievement. “Her hard work and dedication have brought her this far, and we hope she continues to excel and reach greater heights in the future,” he said.
