Shillong, Jan 6: Shillong Lajong FC managed a late goal to edge Nongrim Hills SC 1-0 in the Shillong Premier League 2024 at the SSA Stadium, Polo, on Monday.
Deibormame Tongper’s Last-Minute Heroics
Despite several missed opportunities, Deibormame Tongper (89’) scored the decisive goal for Lajong, securing three crucial points just minutes before the final whistle.
This was Lajong’s first SPL match in a month, taking them to 16 points from seven games. Nongrim Hills, playing their last match of the first leg, saw their three-game winning streak end, leaving them with 13 points from nine fixtures.

The opening half saw few highlights but included a heated altercation that resulted in four yellow cards—two for each team—issued by the referee.
