POCSO court awards 10-yr jail term to man

SHILLONG, Jan 11: The Special Judge of the POCSO Court, East Khasi Hills, has convicted one Kewelstone Khongsngi for offences under Section 6 of the POCSO Act and Section 506 of the IPC in connection with a 2017 rape case in Pynursla.
In a judgment delivered on December 17 last year, Khongsngi was sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 10,000.
The case was investigated by Inspector Balsime Marak, who is currently posted at the Crime Branch Police Station, Eastern Range.
