Thangkhiew re-elected RBYF prez

NONGPOH, Jan 15: Bipul Thangkhiew has been re-elected the president of the Ri-Bhoi Youth Federation (RBYF) for the 2025-2029 term during the General Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday at the Federation’s headquarters in Saiden.
The leadership team was officially confirmed by former RBYF president BB Makdoh in the presence of EK Lapang, the headman of Saiden village and a former leader of the Federation.
Leaders from various RBYF zones, circles and units also participated in the event.
On the occasion, office-bearers for RBYF were also appointed, including AG Sten (chief adviser), Liandar Nongshli (working president), OB Marbaniang (vice president), K Nengnong (general secretary), Denis Syngkli (assistant general secretary), alongside others responsible for portfolios such as finance, publicity, education and agriculture.
In their addresses, BB Makdoh and EK Lapang praised the Federation for re-electing Bipul Thangkhiew, describing him as a visionary leader with an impressive track record.
They highlighted his accomplishments, including the establishment of the RBYF’s fully functional office, and expressed confidence in his ability to lead the organisation to greater achievements.
The former leaders also encouraged the new team to uphold the Federation’s core values of respect, accountability and dedication to community welfare in Ri-Bhoi district and beyond.
