KV NEPA student wins 2nd prize in Met Olympiad

SHILLONG, Jan 20: Itishree Ray, a Class 8 student of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya NEPA, has made her school and state proud by securing the 2nd prize at the Meghalaya state-level Meteorological Olympiad competition.
The competition, conducted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) as part of its 150th-anniversary celebrations, saw participation from students of Classes 8, 9, and 11 from across the country.
Itishree not only won a cash prize of Rs 3,000 but also received a merit certificate and a memento. She has also qualified for the national-level competition to be held at the IMD campus in New Delhi.
Expressing her gratitude, Itishree credited her success to her school principal and teachers for instilling scientific curiosity among students. She is the daughter of Prof. Lala Iswari Prasad Ray and Rajashree Lal. Besides academics, Itishree actively participates in various extracurricular activities.
