Jowai, Jan 25: The Muay Thai events at the 6th Meghalaya Games 2025 concluded on Saturday, with Ri-Bhoi emerging as the dominant force in the men’s category, winning 8 gold medals. East Khasi Hills (EKH) led the women’s category, securing 6 gold medals.
In the men’s category, Ri-Bhoi won gold medals in the 45 kg, 54 kg, 60 kg, 63.5 kg, 67 kg, and 70 kg categories. East Khasi Hills and West Jaintia Hills also secured medals in various categories.
In the women’s category, East Khasi Hills dominated, winning gold medals in the 45 kg, 48 kg, 51 kg, 54 kg, 57 kg, and 60 kg categories. Ri-Bhoi and West Jaintia Hills also secured medals in various categories.
The medal winners in the men’s category included Allandonald Kharthangmaw of Ri-Bhoi (45 kg), Wadborlang Marwein of West Khasi Hills (48 kg), Teiboklang Marbaniang of East Khasi Hills (51 kg), Cornelius Maring of Ri-Bhoi (54 kg), Ariston Syiemasad of East Khasi Hills (57 kg), Shamborlang Marbaniang of Ri-Bhoi (60 kg), Jubinian Mylliemp Ngap of Ri-Bhoi (63.5 kg), Silvester Ingti of Ri-Bhoi (67 kg), and Lamdameshwa Nongrum of Ri-Bhoi (70 kg).
The medal winners in the women’s category included Preety Suting of East Khasi Hills (45 kg), Anita Rai of Ri-Bhoi (48 kg), Aibyntalin Kharumnuid of East Khasi Hills (51 kg), Soosy Phawa of Ri-Bhoi (54 kg), Narimon Nongrum of East Khasi Hills (57 kg), and Jessica Thabah of East Khasi Hills (60 kg).
The 6th Meghalaya Games 2025 featured various sporting events, promoting athletic excellence and camaraderie among participants.
