Nyon, Jan 31: Real Madrid and Manchester City will clash in the Champions League knockout playoffs in a battle between the last two title winners.
The first leg will be in Manchester on Feb. 11 or 12, with the return match in Madrid on Feb. 18 or 19. The winner will advance to the round of 16 to face either Atletico Madrid or Bayer Leverkusen.
Madrid finished 11th in the new 36-team league standings, while City narrowly qualified in 22nd after a crucial 3-1 win over Club Brugge. Bayern Munich, which finished 12th, will face Celtic in another playoff tie.
Other key fixtures include AC Milan vs. Feyenoord, Juventus vs. PSV Eindhoven, Club Brugge vs. Atalanta, and Sporting Lisbon vs. Borussia Dortmund.
The round of 16, set for March, will feature top-ranked teams like Liverpool, Barcelona, Arsenal, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Leverkusen, Lille, and Aston Villa.(AP)
