TURA, Feb 5: South Garo Hills-based social activist, Greneth M Sangma, along with job card holders of Aruakgre VEC under Siju block, has moved the Project Director of DRDA, Baghmara, against the alleged non-payment of wages to the workers.
According to the complaint, despite the required 68 days of work in 2023-24, the beneficiaries were yet to receive their wages.
The complaint alleged that the authorities had attributed the delay to the demise of a particular VEC member.
Pointing out that this was an issue related to Aadhaar, Sangma requested the concerned authority to resolve the matter.
It may be mentioned that a meeting on the matter was held by job card holders earlier on January 31, following which the complaint to the Project Director was filed.
