SHILLONG, Feb 7: A 57-year-old man from Meghalaya, Treactchell Lyndem, has been missing in Bangkok, Thailand, since January 5 this year. The police are yet to receive any information on his whereabouts despite several attempts to locate him.
Speaking on Friday, East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem said that the department had written to the Crime Investigation Department (CID), the nodal agency responsible for liaising with Interpol India. They have requested the issuance of a Yellow Notice to coordinate with Thai authorities in locating the missing person.
“So far, we have not received any information on Lyndem’s whereabouts,” Syiem said.
He also confirmed that the missing person complaint was filed by Lyndem’s wife.
According to reports, Lyndem, a senior official in the KHADC, was last seen in the early hours of January 5. He had arrived in Bangkok with four friends on January 3 and was last spotted strolling through the lobby of NH Bangkok Sukhumvit Boulevard 2 (Sukhumvit Soi 5) around 2 am on January 5.
