Restrictions on NH-6 stretch for road work from Feb 12 to 14

KHLIEHRIAT, Feb 11: In order to facilitate the swift completion of the strengthening and maintenance work on National Highway-6, spanning from km 69.200 to 173.200 between Jowai and Ratacherra (Meghalaya-Assam border), heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) will be restricted from using the affected stretch from 8 am to 5 pm between February 12 and 14 (Wednesday to Friday).
This was informed by Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), East Jaintia Hills, in a press release.
However, light motor vehicles (LMVs) will be permitted to pass, the DDMA chairman said in the press release.
The authorities have urged commuters to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate to ensure smooth progress of the roadwork.
