Shillong regional centre joins 38th convocation of IGNOU

SHILLONG, March 5: The Shillong Regional Centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) joined the 38th Convocation of the university on Wednesday.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan served as the chief guest of the event at IGNOU, New Delhi.
He delivered the convocation address virtually.
At the function in its Shillong Regional Centre, Prof Gauri Dutt Sharma, Vice Chancellor of the University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) was the guest of honour.
In his convocation welcome address, Regional Director Joseph Somi highlighted the achievements and the activities undertaken by IGNOU Shillong Regional Centre during the year 2024.
The university awarded degree and diploma certificates to 3,17,067 students. Out of which, 1,123 are from Shillong.
