60 fire-affected victims receive financial aid: Minister to House

SHILLONG, March 7: A financial aid of Rs 76,44,900 to 60 individuals impacted by fire incidents has been extended in the past two years, informed Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Kyrmen Shylla during the question hour of the budget session on Friday.
The minister revealed that in the financial year 2023-24, a total of 31 individuals were affected, and the government disbursed Rs 47,25,000 as assistance.
In 2024-25, 29 people received support, with Rs 29,19,900 allocated for their relief.
Responding to a question from Mawryngkneng MLA Heavingstone Kharpran, Shylla stated that the government provided Rs 1,30,000 in relief to Midaris Pde of Kut village as per SDRF norms.
