AG Meghalaya clinch IA&AD East Zone Football title

Shillong, March 7: AG Meghalaya emerged as the champions of the IA&AD East Zone Football Tournament 2024-25, organized by the Office of the Principal Accountant General (A&E), Meghalaya, Shillong.
The tournament, which took place from March 4-7, 2025, featured eight teams from across the eastern region, including AG Assam, AG Sikkim, AG Manipur, AG West Bengal, AG Jharkhand, AG Bihar, AG Odisha, and AG Meghalaya.
In the final match on Friday, AG Meghalaya outplayed AG West Bengal in an intense showdown to lift the coveted title. The hosts displayed remarkable skill and determination throughout the tournament, earning them the top honours.
The tournament served as a platform to foster camaraderie and sporting excellence among the participants, with each team putting up spirited performances over the four-day event. With this triumph, AG Meghalaya not only claimed the East Zone title but also secured their place in the IA&AD All India Football Tournament, where they will represent the eastern region.
The victory highlighted the team’s consistent performance and dedication, marking a proud moment for the hosts in the annual sporting calendar.
