NIT Meghalaya, Combine SHG secure wins in Inter-Office T20

Shillong, March 14: The East Khasi Hills Cricket Association (EKHCA) Inter-Office cum Corporate League T20 Tournament 2025 continued on its fifth day, featuring two exciting matches at the Polo Grounds.
In the first game of the day, PHE Sohra Division won the toss and opted to bat, managing to score 66/6 in their allotted 8 overs. Ricky Surong was the top scorer with 18 off 15 balls, while NIT Meghalaya’s Vickyson Lambert War shone with the ball, claiming 2 wickets for just 10 runs in his 2 overs.
Chasing 67 for victory, NIT Meghalaya faced a stiff challenge but managed to cross the finish line in 7.5 overs, scoring 69/6. Vickyson Lambert War starred with the bat as well, contributing a crucial 22 off 17 balls, while Rahnam Nongspung’s impressive spell of 4/12 in 3 overs kept PHE Sohra Division in the game. However, NIT Meghalaya held their nerve to clinch a 4-wicket victory.Vickyson Lambert War was adjudged Player of the Match.
The second match saw Combine SHG put up a commanding performance after winning the toss and electing to bat. They posted a massive total of 151/1 in 12 overs, thanks to a brilliant knock of 59 off 34 balls by Banphira Basaiawmoit. Sohra Post Office’s Daryll Donald Nongbri picked up the lone wicket, finishing with figures of 1/19 in 3 overs.
In response, Sohra Post Office struggled to keep up with the required run rate and could only manage 77/4 in their full quota of 12 overs. Michael Roy Shongdiar was the top scorer for his side with 33 off 31 balls, while Kevin Diengdoh bowled economically, conceding just 10 runs and taking 1 wicket in his 3 overs. Combine SHG secured a dominant 74-run victory.Banphira Basaiawmoit won the Player of the Match award.
The tournament continues with more high-intensity clashes as teams battle for the coveted title.
