Conrad meets union ministers in Delhi

SHILLONG, March 19: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma met central leaders in Delhi on Wednesday to discuss several issues affecting the people of Meghalaya.
During his visit, Sangma met Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Virendra Kumar, to propose the establishment of a Sports Centre for Persons with Disabilities in New Shillong.
Earlier in the day, he also met Union Minister for Women & Child Development, Annapurna Devi, to discuss challenges related to the Supplementary Nutrition Programme, particularly the linking of beneficiaries through Aadhaar, eKYC, and the facial recognition system.
Sangma sought the ministry’s support in extending the deadline for completing the beneficiary linking process in Meghalaya.
He was accompanied by Social Welfare Minister Paul Lyngdoh during the meetings.
