Rotary Club honours outstanding individuals

Shillong, March 19: The Rotary Club of Orchid City Shillong honoured four exceptional individuals for their achievements that have brought immense pride to the state in various fields at a function, here on Wednesday.
The felicitation ceremony, held at Shillong Club, recognized the contributions of Aiboklang Paul Wanniang, a champion arm wrestler; Burt Reynold Nongrum, a renowned hairstylist; Darilin Jovita Masharing, a talented singer and songwriter; and Pynnehbor Mylliemngap, a decorated martial artist who has won multiple medals for the state and the country.
The event was graced by Rotarian Sanju Choudhury, former President of Centennial Rotary Club, Pocatello, Idaho, USA, as the Chief Guest.
Also present were the Rotary Club of Orchid City Shillong President Antony War, Secretary Abir Suchiang, fellow Rotary Club members, and family members of the awardees.
The chief guest commended the awardees for their dedication and excellence in their respective fields. He applauded the Rotary Club of Orchid City Shillong for recognizing and supporting local talents.
In a generous gesture, he contributed a $1,000 cheque to the Rotary Club of Orchid City Shillong to assist in the development of a healthcare facility at Jongksha.
The event served as an encouragement for young talents across Meghalaya, reinforcing the importance of hard work, perseverance, and recognition for those striving for excellence.
