The event, aimed at fostering global economic and cultural exchange presents foreign delegates from countries including Turkey, Afghanistan, Iran, Thailand, Lebanon, Ghana, and Egypt are participating in this year’s fair, which continues to serve as a vital platform for international trade and cultural collaboration in the region. In a special meeting held at The Shillong Club on Saturday, senior members of the KSU greeted the delegates and expressed optimism that their presence would positively impact the state’s socio-economic landscape.
Union General Secretary Donald Thabah said, “While we remain vigilant about the challenges posed by illegal immigration, especially from countries like Bangladesh and Nepal, we are pleased to welcome the foreign delegates participating in this trade fair. We believe their presence will significantly contribute to Meghalaya’s economic growth.” He also encouraged the delegates to explore other parts of the state and discover its untapped tourism potential.
