The recognition highlighted Meghalaya’s commitment to eradicate tuberculosis through targeted interventions, enhanced healthcare infrastructure and innovative community-driven initiatives.
It is said that the state’s strategic approach, including active case finding among vulnerable populations using digital mobile X-ray units which are AI-enabled and NAAT diagnostic tools, has significantly contributed to reaching the unreached and enabling early detection of TB cases within the community.
Receiving the award on behalf of the state, Secretary of Health & Family Welfare-cum-Mission Director, National Health Mission, Meghalaya, Ramkumar S said the award is a testament to the collective efforts of healthcare workers, community volunteers, and policymakers who have tirelessly worked towards a TB-free Meghalaya.
