SHILLONG, March 28: A two-day international consultancy workshop on ‘Strengthening Environmental Leadership through Eco-Spirituality, Eco-Psychology, and Governance in Meghalaya’ was organised here on March 25 and 26.
The programme was organized by MIT-World Peace University, Pune, COE in Sustainability, Environment, and Climate Change, in collaboration with the Department of Social Work-PG, St Edmund’s College, Shillong. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force, Meghalaya Ranjit Singh Gill (IFS) was the chief guest. The event featured distinguished resource persons from both India and abroad. Br Sunil Britto, Principal of St. Edmund’s College and Co-Chairperson of the workshop, emphasized the importance of fostering an eco-conscious mindset, encouraging the participants to go the extra mile in creating a sustainable ecosystem in their respective states.
The collaborative effort led by the workshop Coordinator Dr Rituparna Rajendra, HOD, Dept. of Social Work-PG, St. Edmund’s College highlighted the crucial need for a holistic approach to environmental leadership, blending traditional wisdom, scientific knowledge, and grassroots activism.
