3 bike lifters in police net

SHILLONG, April 1: In a major breakthrough, a team from the Special Cell, East Khasi Hills (EKH), nabbed three bike lifters red-handed from 101 Area in the early hours of Tuesday.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Timus Warbah (30), Babar Mawblei (26) and Synraplang Makri (23), all residents of Jirang, Ri Bhoi.
The police have seized an Alto car used by the gang to move around the city scouting for parked motorcycles. A KTM bike, stolen from Malki on Monday, was also recovered from their possession.
Additionally, two more individuals—Meaibor Kharryjja (26) from Sohlap Shella and Bakordor Rapmai (24) from Jatap Shella—were arrested for facilitating the sale of stolen bikes to buyers in Bangladesh.
The gang has been linked to multiple bike theft cases in Shillong and is currently in police custody.
