The Executive Director, State Disaster Management Authority, Meghalaya, has informed that SACHET App, which has been launched by the central government to provide timely weather alerts and updates, can be downloaded from both the Google Play Store for Android users and the Apple App Store for iPhone users. It also informed that downloading the aforementioned mobile application is crucial for public safety during extreme weather events across Meghalaya.

Dry day
The East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner (Excise) has declared dry day in the district on April 18 on account of Good Friday. In this regard, all bonded warehouses, micro-breweries, IMFL, ‘OFF’ and ‘ON’ shops, homemade wine licensed premises, wine and beer bars, home delivery licensed premises, and canteens and outstills have been directed to remain closed on the aforementioned day.
