SHILLONG, April 12: The state government has clarified that April 14 is not a public holiday, countering misinformation circulating on social media.
The clarification came after a fake report went viral, claiming the government had declared April 14 as a holiday.
In an official statement, the government confirmed that April 14 will be a regular working day, with only a restricted holiday in place.
The rumour had sparked speculation among government employees about the possibility of an extended weekend lasting through Monday.
