SHILLONG, April 19: The stretch from Anjalee Petrol Pump to Upper Shillong via Rilbong junction has been grappling with massive traffic congestion on a daily basis.
According to sources, the traffic situation has worsened due to the commencement of four-lane road construction in the Army area.
The entire stretch—from Anjalee to Rilbong point—remains heavily jammed with vehicles from morning until late evening, causing severe inconvenience to commuters.
While additional police personnel have been deployed to manage the situation, the congestion persists. Instances of two-wheelers and other vehicles overtaking in narrow spaces have only added to the chaos, further complicating traffic movement along the busy route.
