SHILLONG, April 21: The Government of India, through the Office of District Social Welfare Officer, East Khasi Hills, will conduct assessment camps under the Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase/Fitting of Aids/Appliances (ADIP) and the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY) schemes.
According to a statement, these assessment camps, aimed at providing assistive aids and appliances to persons with disabilities, will be organised across all Block Development Offices in East Khasi Hills district, with an objective to empower and support differently-abled individuals by ensuring access to the necessary equipment for improved mobility and quality of life.
In this regard, all eligible people have been encouraged to participate in the camps and have been asked to bring relevant documents.
For the ADIP Scheme, beneficiaries must carry a Unique Disability ID (UDID) card or a medical disability certificate (indicating 40% or more disability), an Aadhaar card, an income certificate showing a monthly income below Rs 22,500, and a passport-sized photograph.
For the RVY Scheme, participants must provide an Aadhaar card, an income certificate with a monthly income below Rs 15,000, and a passport-sized photograph.
The assessment camps will begin on April 22 at the Pynursla Sub-Division, followed by Sohra Sub-Division on April 23 and Khatarshnong Laitkroh C&RD Block on April 24.
The Mylliem C&RD Block will host its camp on April 25, while Mawsynram and Mawphlang C&RD Blocks are scheduled for April 28 and 29, respectively.
Camps will then be held in Sohiong C&RD Block on April 30, Mawkynrew C&RD Block on May 1 and Mawryngkneng C&RD Block on May 2.
The final round of camps will take place in Mawlai C&RD Block on May 5, Mawpat C&RD Block on May 6 and in Shillong Urban on May 7.
The venue for the Shillong Urban camp is yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, people have been suggested to check the official district website at eastkhasihills.gov.in for updates and additional information regarding the schedule and venue of the camps.
