Nongrum, Kharbirymbai to partake in Indian National Rally Championship

Shillong, April 22: Two formidable competitors from the Meghalaya Motorsports Society (MMS) will take part in the much-anticipated 2025 season of the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) is officially underway, with its first round set to take place at the 48th South Indian Rally in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, from April 25 to 27.
Phoebe Dale Nongrum makes her dynamic return to the sport, competing in both the INRC 3 and the Women’s Category, while also taking on international competition in one round of the AsiaPacific Rally Championship (APRC). Her return marks a significant moment for Meghalaya motorsport, as she brings both experience and determination to the season’s opening round.
Joining her is rising star Ronan Bazeley Kharbirymbai, winner of the Star of Meghalaya title at the recently held Speed Fest: Time-Attack 2025 in Umroi. Ronan is set to represent the state in the Junior Indian National Rally Championship (JINRC) category, and his debut on the national circuit is eagerly anticipated.
The 2025 INRC season comprises seven rounds, with competitors required to consistently secure podium finishes in order to contend for the overall championship title.
The participation of Nongrum and Kharbirymbai signals a new chapter of growth and ambition for motorsport in Meghalaya.
The MMS remains steadfast in its mission to support and guide its members towards excellence, and will continue to provide backing to these drivers throughout the championship season.
