State boxers advance in Natl School Games

Shillong, April 23: Meghalaya’s Leofernando Nongklaw and Kabibath M Sangma advanced, while Nicholas Kharjana lost his bout at the 68th National School Games Boxing Competition in New Delhi.
Leofernando and beat Aviral Gupta of CISCE by Referee Stop Contest (RSC) in the second round of the 28-30Kg category. Kabibath also won his contest by RSC against DV Kumar of Jammu and Kashmir in the 1st round of 38-40Kg category. Meanwhile, Nicholas lost to Khilesh Danu of Uttrakhand by points in the 34-36 Kg category.
The boxers representing Meghalaya were selected through the selection process for U-14 boys on April 8, 2025.
The selected boys are Leofernando, Nicholas, Kabibath, Nambearo M Sangma (40-42Kg), Enzo Jordan K Nongkhlaw (42-44Kg), Arki Manbha Rimen (44-46Kg), anb Rudolf Lyngdoh (48-50Kg).
