TURA, April 28: A resident of Haripur in the plain belt of West Garo Hills has written to the Food and Civil Supply Commissioner, seeking complete information in response to an RTI application, after allegedly receiving only partial details from the local sub-divisional office of the department.
It may be mentioned that one Md Chand Miah had filed the RTI on February 23, requesting information regarding a Fair Price shop operated by one Rijaul Islam in Haripur Part 1.
However, according to Miah, when he was called to the concerned office on April 25, he was handed only a few documents—amounting to barely one-third of the information he had requested.
“The documents are insufficient and do not fully address my RTI request,” said Miah in his complaint.
In his petition, Miah urged the Commissioner to intervene and ensure that complete and accurate information is furnished as per his original request under the Right to Information Act.
