BSF arrests Pak national inside Indian territory
Gurdaspur, May 5: The Border Security Force (BSF) has apprehended a Pakistani national who intruded into the Indian territory, officials said on Monday. On May 3 night, the BSF troops on duty in the area of Border Out Post Sahapur, a flanking BOP of Dariya Mansoor, observed suspicious movement near Falku Nala ahead of the border fence and approximately 250 metres inside the Indian territory. An individual, later identified as a Pakistani national, was seen hiding in the bushes and wild growth. (PTI)
Fraudster held for selling NEET ‘question paper’
Patna, May 5: The police arrested a person from Bihar’s Araria district for his alleged involvement in duping medical aspirants ahead of the NEET-UG held on May four across the country. The arrested fraudster was accused of providing the “question paper” of the exam to the aspirants in exchange for money, the police said on Monday. The sleuths of the Economic Offences Unit and Araria Police picked up the accused on May 3. (PTI)
Kerala min flags ‘fake’ education dept website
Thiruvananthapuram, May 5: Kerala Minister V Sivankutty on Monday said that his office has lodged a complaint with the DGP regarding reports of a ‘fake website’ created in the name of the Department of General Education. According to a statement from the minister’s office, a news report published in a local newspaper today claimed that a ‘fake website’ had been set up under the name of the Kerala Board of Public Examinations to offer SSLC and Plus Two courses and conduct examinations. Rabies claims life of 7-yr-old girl in Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram, May 5: A seven-year-old girl, who contracted rabies despite receiving vaccination after the dog bite, died at a state-run hospital on Monday, hospital sources said. The victim, Niya Faisal, a native of Kunnicode in the neighbouring Kollam district, had been on ventilator support at the Sree Avittom Thirunal (SAT) Hospital here for a few days after she tested positive for rabies infection. This is the third rabies-infection-related child death in the past month in the state, despite receiving post-bite rabies vaccinations following stray dog attacks. (PTI)
Delhi records maximum temperature
New Delhi, May 5: Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 32.3 degrees Celsius on Monday, seven notches below the seasonal average, the weather office said. The minimum temperature was recorded at 23.2 degrees Celsius, 1.5 degrees below normal. (PTI)
