Certificate
The Certificate of Vending to the eligible vendors for Khyndai Lad area has been made available at the office of the Chief Executive Officer, Shillong Municipal Board, after the completion of the in-situ survey by the Provisional Town Vending Committee of street vendors in the area falling within the Shillong Municipality. The Chief Executive Officer of Shillong Municipal Board has asked all eligible vendors of Khyndai Lad area to collect the Certificate of Vending (COV) from the office of the Chairperson, Provisional Town Vending Committee, Shillong, during office hours.
Plastic ban
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Shillong Municipal Board has informed that the use and sale of single-use plastic items less than 120 microns, including earbuds with plastic sticks, polystyrene (thermocol) for decoration, packing films around sweet boxes, invitation cards, cigarette packets, plastic or PVC banners etc., which are less than 100 microns have been banned. In this regard, the CEO has directed all commercial establishments and shops operating within the Shillong municipality to stop the distribution, sale and use of such plastics. It was also informed that random checking will be conducted and erring shops/establishments would be penalised and their licence would be suspended/revoked.
