SHILLONG, May 7: Mawsynram MDC Alvin K Sawkmie along with elders of the area met Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Wednesday demanding the upgrade of Mawsynram Block to a Civil Sub Division.
The delegation also asked the chief minister to take up the road construction work from Welloi to Balat.
In the meeting, the chief minister responded positively to both the demands.
The MDC lamented that the locals of Mawsynram have to travel all the way to Shillong for official works.
