National Lok Adalat settles 140 cases

SHILLONG, May 10: As many as 140 cases were resolved, amounting to a total settlement of Rs 1.21 crore, during the National Lok Adalat held across all districts of Meghalaya on Saturday.
Out of the 553 cases taken up, 270 were at the pre-litigation stage while 283 were pending in various courts.
The state-wide exercise was conducted by the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) under the leadership of Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya, Justice IP Mukerji, and Justice HS Thangkhiew.
