SHILLONG, May 20: A central team will visit Meghalaya shortly to conduct ground inspection of the
Jal Jeevan Mission being implemented here.
Apart from Meghalaya, the central teams will visit different Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Punjab, Sikkim, Chhattisgarh and Goa to inspect the JJM.
The visit is being seen as signification, considering the plethora of complaints related to shoddy implementation of JJM in Meghalaya, particularly in the Garo Hills region.
The Meghalaya BJP had, a few months back, demanded a CBI investigation into the questionable implementation of the vital scheme in the state, alleging that the state government had submitted false reports to the Centre on the progress of the scheme.
