Man found unconscious inside restroom, declared dead

SHILLONG, May 22: An unidentified man, aged between 30 and 35 years old, was found unconscious in the restroom of Meera Petrol Pump at Norbong in Ri-Bhoi on Thursday evening.
In a statement, Ri-Bhoi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Vivekanand Singh Rathore, informed that that the man had locked himself inside the toilet.
When the door was forcibly opened, the SPP said that the man was found unconscious with a syringe in his right hand. Though the person was immediately rushed to the Byrnihat Primary Health Centre for medical attention, he was declared brought dead upon arrival.
Following standard legal procedures, the body was transferred to the Nongpoh Civil Hospital for autopsy and the same is currently being kept in the hospital morgue.
The deceased has been described as approximately 5.5 feet tall, with a swarthy complexion.
He was found wearing blue jeans, a peach-colored T-shirt, and had a tattoo on his left arm.
