Alert in EKH following downpour

SHILLONG, May 29: With several parts of East Khasi Hills district witnessing heavy rains over the past few days, the district administration has alerted all line departments to gear up for any eventuality.
A district official on Thursday said the District Disaster Management Authority, MeECL, PWD, Forest, and Fire and Emergency Services departments have been directed to remain on alert to attend to any calamity.
The official said heavy rainfall led to a landslide in Pynursla on Thursday but there was no report of any injury or damage to property.
