TURA, May 29: Meghalaya Blind Football team has emerged champions of the 6th North East Zonal Blind Football tournament held from May 25 to May 28, 2025 at Sarusajai Sports Complex, Guwahati, Assam.
The team led by its coach Chikku R. Marak, has not only won the tournament but also qualified for the National Blind Football tournament. Klingson D Marak who scored the highest of 19 goals was adjudged the best player in the tournament, while Visiondo M Sangma was named the best goalkeeper. The team has brought laurels to thestate in general and and sense of pride and encouragement to the physically-challenged people of the region, in particular.It may be recalled that last year, Meghalaya team were also the winners of the tournament held in Aizawl, Mizoram and this is their second consecutive win in North East Zonal Blind Football tournament.
