Felicitation
The crew of the Assamese biopic Bhaimon Da, based on the life of celebrated director Munin Baruah, was felicitated by the St. Anthony’s College Assam Students Association (SACASA) at Anjalee Cinema Hall, Shillong. The film began screening in the city on May 30. Around 20 crew members were honoured in the presence of Dr. Kanta Kaveri Das from the Music Department. SACASA also organised a successful Meet and Greet session, allowing students and film enthusiasts to interact with the team behind the film.
Base-laying prog
The foundation stone-laying ceremony for Regional Semen Production Laboratory & Semen Bank for Sheep & Goat will be held at 10 am on Thursday at Veterinary Field Assistant Training Institute, Kyrdemkulai, Ri-Bhoi. The programme will be attended by AH & Veterinary Minister AL Hek as the chief guest.

The District Disaster Management Authority will organise training for Yuva Aapda Mitra volunteers between 10 am and 4 pm from June 5 to 12 at Assam Rifles Public School, Shillong.

Inauguration
A charitable dental clinic was on Monday inaugurated at the Earle Holiday Home Charitable Dispensary, Oakland, Police Bazar, by K. Pariat, Trustee in Charge. “During the event, Dr. M. Barthakur, Dispensary in Charge, shared that the clinic aims to serve the general public, especially the underprivileged sections of society,” a statement in this regard said.

Programme

The Urdu Society of India, Shillong, has elected its new office-bearers following an election held recently at its central office. The newly elected office-bearers, who will serve a three-year term till May 2028, include Mohammad Amir (president), Rabindra Prasad Singh and Md. Shafique Khalid (advisers), Mohammed Asif and Anwar Hussain (vice presidents), Asif Hussain (general secretary), Sameer Swer and Mufid A. Laskar (assistant general secretaries), et al.
Reopening
The Deputy Commissioner of West Jaintia Hills District on Tuesday announced the reopening of all tourist spots within the district. This decision comes after the District Disaster Management Authority observed an improvement in weather conditions, including a significant decrease in rainfall and strong winds. As a result, with effect from Tuesday, all tourist spots in the district have been permitted to reopen to the public.
