SHILLONG, June 5: The State Cabinet has approved the establishment of the State Seed Certification Agency in Meghalaya. This move aims to make Meghalaya self-reliant in terms of seed certification so as to ensure production, sale and distribution of certified/quality seeds to farmers for achieving better and higher yields of agricultural produces.
The Cabinet also approved the proposed Meghalaya State Energy Conservation Fund Rules, 2025.
This, the Cabinet said, will put in place measures for energy conservation and improve energy efficiency, whether it is in regard with public buildings, street lightings, energy efficient projects or energy efficient agricultural pumps etc.
