Assault & racial slur
Dulan Mitra lodged a complaint that on June 6, at about 8 pm, two unidentified scooter-borne masked miscreants accused him of being Bangladeshi national, assaulted him, forcibly took away his mobile phone, wallet and also threatened him with dire consequences at Nongrim Hills, Shillong. However, later, police patrolling personnel apprehended the duo.

Fake residential certificate
Additional Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills lodged a complaint that a fake permanent residential certificate was detected during verification of the certificates of one Rahul Kumar Chaudhari, reportedly used for applying for the post of CT (GD) in the BSF. Another fake permanent residential certificate belonging to one Abhisek Yadav was also detected while it was used to apply for the post of Constable (GD) in CAPF, SSF, NCB and Assam Rifles.

Bike stolen
Brenith M Marak lodged a complaint that on June 6, miscreant(s) stole his motorcycle (ML-14-8352) from his residence at Kimdegre in South West Garo Hills.

WhatsApp hacked, man duped
A male resident of a locality in Shillong lodged a complaint that on May 21, around 10.32 am, he received an anonymous WhatsApp message from his sister’s account, requesting him to transfer Rs 25,000, to which he complied. However, later the complainant learnt that the WhatsApp account of his sister has been hacked.
