SHILLONG, June 9: In yet another shocker, the owner of Thrills Fun Park in Ri-Bhoi, Eugene Niangte, was assaulted by a group of inebriated tourists from Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. The incident occurred when the tourists deliberately vandalised dummies inside the haunted house. Niangte confronted the tourists, who began abusing him and assaulting him.
Despite the seriousness of the attack, Niangte told The Shillong Times that he chose not to file an FIR due to prevailing tensions in the tourism sector following the high-profile Sohra incident. He clarified that no action was taken against the tourists, and they were eventually asked to leave the premises.
Ri-Bhoi police stated that the victim is unwilling to lodge an FIR and no further action is being initiated.
