In a send-off ceremony held at MSMA headquarters, Laitkor Kynton-U-Mon, MWA President Shri Donny R. Ranee extended his best wishes to the team and encouraged the athletes to bring glory to the state.
He also informed that the participating athletes, along with those selected for the 24th Junior National Wushu Championship to be held in Hyderabad this July, will be part of the Team Preparation Wushu Group for the upcoming 39th National Games 2025, which Meghalaya will host.
Highlighting the urgent need to strengthen the state’s coaching infrastructure, Shri Ranee urged the Sports Department of Meghalaya to appoint two NS NIS-qualified coaches from the state at the earliest.
He stressed that such appointments are crucial to ensuring adequate preparation for the 39th National Games.
The MWA remains committed to promoting Wushu across Meghalaya under its motto: “Toughness in Softness and Softness in Toughness.”
