Pressure groups press for ILP in Meghalaya

Shillong, June 13: The State government on Friday urged the pressure groups to have faith in the government and moved collectively the interest of the State.

Cabinet Minister and MDA spokesperson said this in reaction to pressure groups taking to the street in demand for introduction of ILP in the State.

Meanwhile, the expert committee on reservation policy has submitted its report to the State government which will study it and present it in the State Assembly.

Informing this, Cabinet Minister and MDA Spokesperson, Paul Lyngdoh said that Chief Secretary and other senior officials have been entrusted to study the report bring it to the cabinet which will be then placed in the State Assembly scheduled for September 2025.

Members of the pressure groups including HYC and JSM today staged protest in front of the Main Secretariat here demanding immediate implementation of ILP in the state.
