New classroom to ensure free edn to underprivileged

SHILLONG, June 17: A newly constructed classroom dedicated to providing free education to underprivileged children was inaugurated in Mawlong village, marking a significant step towards inclusive rural development.
The initiative was supported under the Chief Minister’s Special Rural Development Fund (CMSRDF) and facilitated by the Mawpat Block Office, with implementation led by a social organisattion called SPARK – Bringing Light to Lives, Meghalaya.
The inauguration saw a symbolic ribbon-cutting by children and village elders, in the presence of parents, community leaders, and students
from several Shillong colleges including St. Mary’s, St. Anthony’s, Women’s College, and Shillong College.
Local leaders expressed gratitude to the government and all stakeholders whose joint efforts helped realise this long-cherished dream.
