15-day nationwide campaign gets under way in EJH

KHLIEHRIAT, June 18: The 15-day nationwide Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) IEC campaign commenced on Wednesday in East Jaintia Hills, covering areas under Wapung, Saipung and Lumshnong C&RD Blocks.
Awareness camps were organised in eight villages, viz. Tuber-Shohshrieh, Wapung, Iongkaluh, Bataw, Latyrke, Lamyrsiang, Chiehruphi and Nongsning.
The campaign, the curtain on which will come down on June 30, will cover a total of 73 villages and involve multiple departments, including Health, Social Welfare, Education, PWD, Agriculture, MeECL and others.
Key services offered include Aadhaar enrolment, Ayushman Bharat registration, PM-KISAN enrolment, Jan Dhan account opening and MHIS-Aadhaar linkage. IEC materials and banners are being widely used to raise awareness of various government schemes related to education, health, housing and livelihoods.
The initiative aims to promote inclusive development and tribal empowerment, and is being organised to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda as part of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh.
Awareness camps on June 19 will be held in villages across all three blocks.
