SHILLONG, June 18: The BJP has reached out to former UDP leader Jemino Mawthoh who recently resigned from the party.
A source informed that the BJP has sent feelers to Mawthoh to join its ranks. However, Mawthoh’s stand is unclear as he is said to be weighing his options before taking a call on his political future.
Mawthoh resigned from the UDP on May 31, citing personal reasons.
Meanwhile, UDP president Metbah Lyngdoh said the party will take a call on its new general secretary during the central executive committee meeting to be held in the first week of July.
